The Running Horse

tcn-running-horseTHUNDERCLAP NEWMAN BAND AT THE RUNNING HORSE IN LEATHERHEAD, SURREY
Thunderclap Newman Band featuring Andy Thunderclap Newman will be appearing at the Running Horse in Leatherhead, Surrey on Saturday, 28 March 2009.
They will be playing songs from the classic “Hollywood Dream” album which was produced by Pete Townsend in 1969.
The band will be on stage at 8.30pm – admission is free.
The Running Horse pub in Leatherhead is a  Grade II listed pub which can trace its roots back to 1520, offers an historical tavern inn setting. History has it that Queen Elizabeth I spent a night in the pub when flooding made the River Mole impossible to cross.
What a privilege to be able to play in a house where “Good Queen Bess” or “Gloriana” as Queen Elizabeth I was sometimes called, once put her head on a goose feather pillow!

IT’S IN THE NAME

After a creative break, Thunderclap Newman are back…as Thunderclap Newman Band. Since Andy ‘Thunderclap’ Newman is the only surviving member of the original band, it was decided to rename the new band to make a clear distinction between the 1960s Thunderclap Newman and the Thunderclap Newman Band of today.
